Am I jacking it right?

OK.. skip the way I named this thread lol..

so my 'usual' method of jacking the car up is with the following tools:

2 ton lift jack with jack stands as pictured below:

as per the manual, I jack it up along the jack points along the side...so once I got it jacked to where I want it.. how do you slip in the jack stand? and/or where do you put it?

or am I doing this correct? cuz I think I should be jacking up from front or rear and when high enough, slip the jack stands underneath the side metal areas.

look at the right side of the page labeled "floor jack"

that should give you your answer

the points you jack it up are the "frame hoist" and are used for an in ground lift.

not really.

to the right of the FSM page, it states "floor jacks"
use the front and rear jacking points...

the front jacking point is in the front. (there will be a square in the middle of the frame)
and the rear jacking point is in the rear. (the tow hook)

thanks..i'll test tonight if I can jack that high with my present floor jack. gotta be enough to slip in the jackstands...and that is the other question, where do they go? on the metal where the hoist goes?

EDIT: never mind, it says that on the manual scan above.

harbor frieght always has deals on low pro floor jacks.
80 bucks gets you an awesome floor jack that lifts the car as high as you need it, while still being low enough for the slammed crowds

Yea get a Pittsburgh 2.5 ton floor jack for less than 100.00. Its heavy as shit but its a low profile jack with a high lift height.
It is also wide based so it distributes the weight on the floor in case you have weak surfaces.

The Aluminum one was ideal but they didn't have one in stock when I went to buy mine. I have 3 jacks now, but I do engine swaps and tranny stuff. So having a couple back up jacks is nice when installing an engine by yourself.
