Do you guys know if the studs and nuts that come with these spacers are heat treated ?
Are they strong and durable ?

^^^^I concur...
about the studs themselves, they are stamped with a grade 10 on them...so I'm assuming that's even stronger than the 8 that has that goldish hue to it.

So far, no issues with them.

Alright, I just ordered a 15mm set. I had a bad experience w 10mm before.
I was torquing (80ft/lb) my lock lug nut down and the stud started to turn in its perch. The stud then popped out of the spacer easily. I ended up returning them. I'm hoping that all goes well with this set.

I do want to mention this.
There is a thread where akata was putting out a 10mm version 2 spacer, which NOBODY else does due to the fact that there's just not enough material to safely hold the studs in place.

Read here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/dont-trust-akata-10-mm-spacers-847923/

Now the debate was that ANY company that put out a 10MM spacer would likely fail, not the fact that it was an akata spacer. Anyway, when looking for some 15's for my car...I saw that they still had them listed on ebay. I messaged them and posted the link from acurazine and got a response. Namely, a thank you for letting them know and that there was a defect on those and that they pulled the listing. Thought it was pretty good business response on their part. Thought I'd share.

Wait till you get your wheels and see where you stand as far as your drop and camber etc...and whether or not you roll fenders before deciding on spacers.

A lot goes into what you can use as a spacer...how low are you? Are your fenders rolled? Is your camber corrected?

Here's an example of mine...
+45 aspecs...with 235 tires...Tein SS almost all the way down, fenders rolled and camber corrected from the top with -1 up front and -1.5 rear.

Thanks for your review rockstar!..

I decided to go with the hubcentric akatas after reading thru this thread and a few other ones about spacers.

my wheel specs are 18x8.5 +38 with 225/40/18 wheels.. i think im lowered somewhere between 1.5 and 2"s.. and my camber is approx -1.3 all around.. i was scared abt rubbing but wanted to use spacers bc the wheels were sunk in..

i ordered 15mm front/ 20mm rear.. tires dont rub at all.. seller on ebay responded quickly and shipped them to canada in just over a week.. i installed them and torqued down to 80ft/lbs as recommended here.. rechecked it after 50km and a couple of bolts on the front spacers seemed a tiny bit loose (still tighter than hand tight) but i retorqued them just to be safe.

i was really cautious to look out for vibrations.. im probably a bit paranoid, but as my car is lowered u can feel every bump on the road anyways.. i Think i feel a little bit of vibration on the highway and the car pulling slightly left (nothing major).. my tires are almost gone so it cud be due to that, plus they have a lot of camber wear.. tire pressure was fine at 35psi... a friend suggested i buy some hub rings as the spacers did not come with any, so i will get those this week.. not sure if itll help but its worth a shot and i can also recheck the torque when putting them on..

overall i think these are well worth it for the price.. strong build quality and didnt run into any problems installing.. plus it makes the rims look Way better.

Thanks for sharing, man!
Glad it worked out for you...

As an addendum I would just warn that I've heard that 10MM V2's are not thick enough to use safely. We have one documented failure from there not being enough material.

15's...I have them on my fiancee's ride...for over 5K miles now...did a road trip this weekend...600 miles...zero issues...15 up front and 25 on the rear of her 08 accord.
What a difference they make!

Also, when you torque to 80, what I like to do to avoid having to retorque is go around and count to 10...keep cross pattern tightening to 80 but once you've done all 5 keep going till you've done them twice, I find that this keeps all of them tight and no retorque is needed.

I had 15mm Ichibas in front and 20mm Akatas in back with 18x8 +45 Aspec rims.

Functionally, they were identical in my experience. I mean, how different can they be? The only difference that I did notice was the bolts. You have to use a six point socket to get the Ichibas off. If you go with a 12 point, the bolts will round. I was amazed at how soft they were.

Absolutely no problems with the Akatas.

^^^Yep, very true...the ichibas are super soft...most people swap them for normal open ended short lugs to replace the gold ichibas.

TLDude...lol...in my fiancee's world...that is SLAMMED! The car is on H&R Sport Springs...with 1 dead coil cut from the back.
