+45 Offset

Hi Guys,

I found a great deal on a brand new set of Aspec wheels in the ebony finish. The only thing is that they are 45 offset. I am relatively new to this so please go easy. The other wheels i have been looking at were 35 offset. Are the 45's going to be ok? Any issue(s) i should be aware of? Thanks!

You'll have absolutely no problems.

Stickers that come with the wheels say 235/40/18.

I just put 245/40/18's on my 18/8 Aspec's. Looks great stacked up on my garage floor. Have yet to get them on and try them out.

I have 235 40s on my ASpecs now and am a good 10-15mm from the front fender (more clearance in the back). I think 245s (+10mm) will fit without any problems. I'm also guessing that they'd be fine even if you dropped the car a couple of inches.

you can run either 235/40/18 (little stretch) or 245/40/18 (rim protection)

Is a 235 stretching on an 8 inch wheel? I don't really think so... maybe 215 or even 225 would but I think a 235 would be perfect. It's the OEM size afterall...

OP -
235's, 245's, and 255's will all fit. 235 is the OEM size. However, when Acura put the original OEM tire on the 17x8 or 18x8 wheel the tire they used was a little large for a 235. That said, any 235 tire will work well, but an average 245 will work extremely well also because the original 235 that were used ran a little big. 255's will fit, but they're really meant for 8.5inch+ wheel. I would recommend a 245; you get a little more rim protection, a smidge more sidewall, and a little bit of a wider look. I prefer the wider tire look, but some people like to stretch. You could always put a 205 tire on there if you want to be really cool.

Thank you for this information; i was leaning towards the 245's already. I am not interested in any stretching and i prefer the wider look.

A 235 section width will definitely NOT stretch the tire on the 8 inch wide a-spec wheels.

I ordered the wheels yesterday and they were shipped this morning; i am pretty excited to get them. Definately getting 245/40's, looking at the Hankook Ventus V12.

What kind of characteristics are you looking for in your tires?
