Question 20's on a 99 tl?

I was wondering if anyone has put 20's on their TL 99-01? I want to put 20 inch lexani arnage's on my 99 tl but i know it would be a tight fit. People have told me not to do it but i want to so badly.

if you find 20s that come in an 8" width with about a +50mm offset, then they will fit in terms of not sticking out and/or rubbing. but the bigger issue is the available tire size...245/35 is the smallest one available and it's rolling diameter is bigger than stock (ie, speedo reading inaccuracies) and 245 width is meant to be mounted on rims wider than 8". even if you got both, there is a chance you could be rubbing on the inside along suspension components. some have put 20s on their rides so maybe they will chime in...

20's no good man,I have a friend that tried that last summer and by thanksgiving he was bying a new set of rear tires,It was a mess no one could get in that car with him without the tires rubbin plus he let me drive his tl and the ride was terrible you feel every bump no matter how small it was. the n from all the rubbin in the back one of the tires blew out then he had to $500 for a new rim plus like 400 to 450 for to new tires JUST NOT WORTH IT 18's or 19s should do

Excellent points indeed. Why would anyone want to put something on their car that would require major modifications for it to fit and at the same time degrade the performance of their car?
There was one guy on this forum that had 20" but for some unknown reason had them removed. I wonder why...
BTW - sure they'll fit...go for it!

245 is the tire width in mm. 45 means the sidewaill height is 45% of the tire width.

i say find out for yourself, i not saying this to be mean, i saying this because not everyone has the correct information, i've seen 20 on TL's a couple times, (in person), slammed too, and yes the tires were 245/35/20, if you want, you should talk to Importcult, he had 20s, and he knows the kid with the 99-01 body TL with 20s, slammed too, i have 19*8.5 with 45 offset, i was told i would rub, luckily for some reason i don't, i know my car is pretty much the same with everyone elses here, but i don't know...

are you going to drop it? if you don't 45 offset and 8.5 rims in the front will stick out, but if you drop the car, it will tuck nicely with 19s, i don't know about 20s, but i hope it gives an idea...

let me put it this way, (this is an example and i don't mean to hurt feelings), 20x8 rims with a 50 offset are guildlines basically, kind of like the amount of sugar needed for kool-aid, and you know you like to add more sugar than directed and suprisingly it still works, the kool-aid is sweet and good...

this is my cracked out opinon, but it's true from what i have withnessed on my car, and i'm sorry to talked so much...

and a lower offset like 45, will fill out your wheel wells, an great example would be to look at the hawaii pictures in the gallery forum, look at the front and rear, the fenders look farther out than the rims...
