2008 TL wheels
I know everyone is probably tired of all the questions on wheels/tires and backspacing etc but I need to ask this before the deal disappears. I have a 2007TLS and there is a set of OEM takeoffs from a 2008TL (17"). Will they fit my '07 TLS with the standard tires? If I need spacers in the front how much will I need and am I doing something that is nuts? I hate the original waffle design and want to keep the new 17" Michelins I just had installed.
Please help if you can.

Thanks. The dealer (actually a pretty good friend in parts) said they won't work because of the Brembro caliper size which really screws up a nice deal on some decent wheels. I guess I'll have to search for a set of 2007-08 "A" spec 18 wheels as I'm sick of these "waffle" wheels. Maybe I can sell the OE TLS wheels with the new Michelins and get all this behind me or don't look at the wheels when I walk up to the car.
Very frustrating situation and the aftermarket wheel choices I've seen for a TLS don't really appeal to me at my ripe old age.
Anyone have a set of "A" spec wheels for sale?

As mentioned above all 17" and 18" for 3G are interchangeable. I too have a
Type S with the 17" OEM "waffle" rims. I'm not crazy about them but have my snow tires mounted on them. I also have a second set of 18" A-Spec rims for the summer. They obviously both fit with no mods. There is a new Premium sponsor to AZINE -

You may want to hit them up for pricing on the A-Specs rims as they seem to be doing very well on the whole kit. You may also want to check the BM, but the A-Specs go very quick. Another source is Craigs List as I have seen some for sale locally by me.
Good Luck -

I don't know whether I'd go as far as saying they are flat out ugly, but I don't like the open recessed lug area on the '07-'08 split spoke base TL's. I also must admit I like a little bling on the WDP as I had the '04-'05 factory wheels chrome plated years ago and wrapped with the 245/45-17 S4's. That's what makes the world go 'round, we all like different things.

Vinnier, you're not alone...I like the Type S wheels. Those wheels "say" Type S to me. But maybe that's why I like them. Are they good looking??? Maybe not, but they "say" Type S TL.

i sold my type S wheels (and tires with 15k on them) and upgraded to brand new ebony A-Specs and brand new yokohamas (both from the dealer i might add) for a net cost of $604 to me. if that wasn't an easy decision i dont know what is. obv, i would recommend doing this.
