08 TLS rough ride

Hello, Any help. I have an 08 TLS I bought new. It always seemed to have a rough ride. Anyway I don`t drive it too much. Its got a little over 90000 miles on it. Pilot sport tires with good tread. It drives like I have flat spotted tires, very shaky. Like the tires are out of balance. Their not and there not flat spotted either. Straight wheel alignment. would really love to have a smooth ride. Its a great looking car. Still stock everything on it. Any suggestions? (Shocks)? I have a 2012 Civic that drives really smooth would love for this car to do the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If it feels like you have flat spots, you may have flat spots, have out of balance wheels/tires, out of round wheels/tires, or bad Axle/CV joints. You will need to do a bit more troubleshooting to help narrow it down. Rotate the tires...did that change? Get the tires roadforce balanced. Have a tire shop confirm nothing it out of round.

Is it speed dependent? Does it change under acceleration? Does it smooth out after driving for 10-15 minutes?

08 TLS rough ride

Thanks for the response. I will get the tires rotated and balanced and checked for round. I don`t think their flat spotted, but it`s possible. I don`t drive it that much. But it`s never driven great. I don`t think the CV`s or axles are bad. Just want to get a better/smoother ride. Sometimes it does seem to get better after driving for awhile. With the holidays coming it may be awhile before I get it done but I will. Any suggestions for shocks other than stock?
Thanks again and happy holidays

Pilot Sports and cold weather don't mix well, you'll need to drive a few miles and the PSI on tires raise about 2PSI from cold (after driving due to tires warming up) and then the flat spots will start to come out.

EDIT: forgot to mention have a shop check the lower control arm bushings, or read up here and check them yourself for cracks and damage. I'd also venture to say you want to replace sway bar endlinks too with that mileage. Does the rear of the car tend to move around a bit on bumps? Is the steering shaking on acceleration?

To echo what others have written, the first place I'd look would be the axles; a very-VERY common issue with pretty much all Honda Accords and all derivations thereof, the 2G and 3G TLs included.

No rear end or steering wheel issues. I`ll look at the bushings and axles. It`s always been a little shaky. I will need to spend some quality time with the front end

My car had exactly the issue you complain of when I bought it; I had the OEM axles replaced with a new set of Autozone Duralast axles; they improved the vibration, a bit. I replaced them again with APWI axles, much recommended by many members on this forum, and problem solved. The APWI axles went in over two years ago and they are still nice and smooth.

I have OEM axles and nothing vibrates
There are only a few places in Dallas that can balance a tire. And many places will tell you the wheels are balanced.

I went to 4 places and the first one side he balanced them. The next guy said 2 were out of balance. And the 3rd said 2 were out of balance.. And it still vibrated..
So I sold the tires.. And bought new ones from sears and they balanced them and all seems well now.
