2008 Grey TL

Hi fellas n ladies,

Last night I went to test drive an 08 TL at Audi Peoria with 70k on it. They're asking 18500 for it and it came out to 20760 after everything and was wondering if I can talk them down to 18000 OTD? It's looks very clean and the carfax has a long list of services done to it regularly by Acura of Peoria where it was originally purchased. Driving it on the highway up to 80 the car felt solid but going back taking the side streets it felt bumpy and I could feel every crack in the road, just wondering if this was normal for it to be that stiff or could something be wrong. They hadn't replaced the tires and it felt to be 4 or 5/32s so I could probably use that in negotiating because I know the Michelins for it is kinda pricy. Hopefully new tires would help with the ride?

I really wanted a manual Type-S but can't seem to find any here or in Cal with around 60k miles for under 23K OTD because I'm only looking to finance 20K or less w/3k down. I've been keeping my eyes on the local dealerships and cars and auto trader but haven't spotted any I like in the last 2 months.

Thoughts? Sorry for the noob questions but both my cars before this I bought cash. Thnx in advance.

You could always offer them 18 otd. Doesn't hurt to try. As for the ride, all TLs have a firm ride. But the TL-S has an even firmer ride.

$18,000 is too much IMO, keep looking. Its a base TL...there's more then enough of them out there.

Thumbs down

A bit high on the price, 18k is to much. Its only a Base. Keep looking. I got my TL-S w/ 60xxx for $18,500

Thanks for the replies.

My deadline to get a new car is the end of the year so I don't feel any pressure whatsoever to get anything immediately. The only problem is it seems all the manuals TLs or TLS are in the east coast. The only one within 300 miles of me on auto trader is the silver CPO at Riverside but I've read only negative reviews about them plus I doubt they'll go down to 20k OTD.

Thanks again and I'll definitely keep looking.

Keep waiting, that's what I had to do. Finally found an 06 TL Base 6-speed last weekend outside of Chicago for a fair price after 3 months of continuous looking.
