Exclamation 04'TL - Will 17x9 rims be a problem?

I wanted wider rims on my Automatic 2004 TL.
--------------------------------------------
I found some really wide ones! 17"x9"
-is this too wide for the front?
--------------------------------------------
I have brand new 225/65/17 all season tires on the stock 17"x7" rims.
So I wanted to stay with a 17" rim size...
Can still use these tires on the new wider rim for now?
--------------------------------------------
Thanks!

17x9 are ok..

but no wayyyyyy will those tires fit.. way too tall

edit:

235/45/17 = 25.33"

a 235/65/17 = 29"

hmmm... they are 225 not 235's- does this make a diff?

oh, and I see the offset is +18 on these rims, so they probably wont fit.

thanks for the help

Unhappy

I see what you mean on the ride height- setting them next to the car- the 225/65/17's look like truck tires...

DOH!

Going back for tires that fit!

I checked the ones she has now = the speedometer will read 60 when she's doing 61mph. Not a big deal!

yea check here on sizes of things prior to purchase if you have any concerns!
