Where is the relay for the 04 TL windshield wipers? I can't find it on the cover diagram. Is there a relay, and if so where? I'm sitting on the floor at auto zone till I figure this out

 

And how hard is it to replace the motor

Wait-- did your car go through the wiper motor recall already?
There was a recall for the windshield wiper motors in the '04-'06 TL which came out about the same time as the first PS hose recall, so most of us had the work for both recalls done at the same time.

If your TL is not listed as having the wiper motor recall done, bring it in and get it done-- free way to get your wiper motor running.

 

should be a recall from acura on the wiper motor. they replaced mine for free. call the dealership and see whats up.

How so you know mine hasn't had it? I would hope that is true but I called acura and they said it was already done. Obviously not right...

 

Look for a punchmark above the 5th VIN character in the engine compartment. If you see one, it's been done

I know you were trying to help. I wasn't asking in a rude way how do you know, I'm asking because I want to know how to know. I'm aware of the recall. But acura said it was already done.

Biloxi, MS. I'm from that area, I never see anyone from around there on here. I'm assuming you checked the fuse?

 

Yeah I checked the fuse. I'm hoping its the motor because its being replaced as we speak. I've been seeing a bad ass TL around that's all black. Is that you?

 

Where is the engine compartment vin number?

 

^on the firewall under the plastic cover stamped into the firewall center of car. On the older models there is no plastic covering it

VIN numbers are also on each body panel of the car including doors, fenders, quarter panels, hood and trunk but those won't have the punchmarks on them. I believe that the VIN is also on the engine it's self and the bumper skins(F&R).

 

did you ever find the location for the relay? if so could you tell me where its at?
