I have a lot of experience with Honda and Acura maintenance and repair. However this CAN-BUS thing is new to me.

I've got a stubborn window regulator on my wife's 2008 TL base. Front passenger window would work intermittently for a few months. now it will not roll down at all. I can hear a relay-click sound when I try the switch. #26 fuse is good.

So before I continue my normal diagnostic routine (expecting to replace the regulator/motor or find a loose wire) will I really need to run a reset procedure on the power window system every time I disconnect power or replace a component? This is what I'm reading in my FSM.

On the topic of resetting the system(s), is there still no affordable solution or alternative to the HDS for the home mechanic? $700 for software alone is pretty discouraging.
