wind noise door alignment gap

Dear forum members,

Would it be possible for you to take a picture of the gap between the front doors and the rear doors and post it or email them to me? My TL has a ton of wind noise that begins at around 35 mph. Everyone says that the car is quiet but mine is really noisy! I noticed that the mirrors aren't flush against the body panels as well, slightly sticking out at the corner. Would that contribute to the wind noise? I would think so, since it would force incoming air into the gap instead of letting the air pass over it.

With the doors, does the front door weatherstrip extend all the way to the rear door, completely sealing it? Mine doesn't, as you can see in the pics there is a huge gap.

New pictures

Well, since nobody helped I went to the dealership myself and took some pictures of the 2006 and 2007 TL's. I noticed that on most of the cars, the weatherstripping from the front doors extend over the weatherstripping of the rear doors completely, creating a stron g seal. What's interesting is that some of the new cars on the lot still had a noticeable gap.

Here are the pics:

Can anyone with a 2004 TL check their seals and report back if they have a big gap or if it's completely sealed? I'd like to know if it's possible to fix the problem on the 2004s and my thinking is that if someone reports that their's is fine, that proves that it's possible to fix.

My car had a gap... Well really it just wasn't adjusted flush with the rear part of the door.

The front door seal was flipped the wrong way... Dealer just taped it the correct way and the summer heat fixed it... Ill go look at my 05 tonight.

Thanks Kracker. What do you mean exactly by the door seal flipped the wrong way?

It looks sealed to me.

Drivers side:

Passenger side looks the same...

Here is the rubber that was pointed the wrong way:

I actually had to bend it to make it look like that. But it was pointed the wrong way before I had it taped.

Thx Kracker, your seals look great. I dare to conjecture that you don't suffer from much wind noise? I'm surprised that my car was put together so poorly, it must have been built in a Friday.

You could always put some masking tape (the blue 3m stuff) over the suspected area and take it for a spin. Its a good way to pinpoint the source of the wind noise.
