Wierd odor
Wierd odor
When I run A/C or just fan , there are no odor. But while the A/C is on and I turn it off , immediately I smell a weird odor , I don't know how to describe it . It appears for short amount of time ( 10-15 minutes ) then go away. I just changed my air filter last 3 week. Anyone has this issue ?
Spray Lysol into all of your interior vents. Start your car, turn your fan on, and spray Lysol into all of the vents that are underneath the hood right below the wipers.
Try it and see if it works.

About three to five minutes before you get to where you're going when using your A/C, turn it off then set your fan speed on the highest setting. This will help dry out the evaporator. Also, try to avoid using the recirculate mode too much. I know that when using the AUTO setting, this is what you get initially because the car is going to try to cool down the cabin quickly. Just watch it.
Most important is turning it off before you get to where you are going and running the fan on high speed.
The most common cause of this is; 1) running your A/C in recirculate mode most of the time, and 2) not turning off your A/C before you arrive at your destination after having used it for a bit.

. Is there not anyway than doing it every time ?I did try the Lysol like you guys said yesterday. Up to now , it seems better. I did it before but leave the fan like 2-3 minutes ( no result ). But yesterday I turned the fan high for really long time.
I thought I'm in both 1 and 2

I have the same issue. I think it also happens if the car was smoked in. The smoke gets stuck to the A/C Coils inside the cabin.
There is a specific spray you can use to clean out the smell. Used car dealers use it but I can't recall the name.
I wouldn't use Lysol because it leaves a residue/film on wherever you spray it.
If you dont drive around with recirculate on the cabin filter is going to get very dirty very fast.
I was fixing a sqeek once inside my dash and decided to check my cabin filter. Well I left it out when I drove to the store to get a new filter. The air coming into the car from the outside with the glove compartment off was greater at 30 mph then having all the windows down at 70mph without recirculate on.
