wierd noise

I have an 04 TL that I just got from the GM of an acura dealer, it has 24K miles and when I go from dead stop to normal acceleration I get a squeal noise like if you brakes were scrubbing. The high pith scratch noise. Well my brakes are brand new and it only does it when under acceleration or when pedal is pressed. Go to coast and no sounds hit pedal and brake squeak sound. Could someone help me out here as I am new to TL's....owning only Subaru WRX's and Sti's.

My mom had a similar problem with her Camry....We had a warped rotor...The problem occurred after we had a service shop install brand new brakes and rotors all around. He overtightened the lugnuts (with an impact wrench ) so the rotor warped. Once I changed out the front rotors (about 5K miles afterwards due to my laziness ), the whine/squeal was gone. It was basicallly the same symptoms as you describe...But it could possibly be time for new belts, if one is loose, it might be slipping? Just a thought.

So it's not related to brakes, it just sounds like that?
It could be one of the bearings in the alternator, or the belt tensioner or belt idler pulley bearings.
You can use a mechanic's stethescope to figure out which. They're like $5 at Harbor Freight.

Sometimes they will only make a loud noise at certain rpms. Kinda strange to see one of those go out with this few miles, though.
Does the car have to be moving, or will it do it in park or neutral?
Also check power steering fluid level.
When did it start doing this?
Still under warranty?

I bet money that is what it is.......
"Got a ’04 MDX or ’04 TL in your shop that pings,
buzzes, or whistles under load with the engine
running at 1,500 to 2,500 rpm? The culprit could
be the intermediate shaft bearing heat shield. This
noise can change with engine temperature and
may be intermittent. Sometimes, you can hear this
noise only when the engine is cold."

Because after driving today about 90 miles I was pulling back into the driveway and decided to roll the window down and see what I could hear.....nothing it was gone. But a couple hours later had to run to town and it was back. It is very intermittent.

Trancemission how many times has yours been fixed and is it worth my time to get it fixed if it is just gonna come back

so just print the page 6 from the link you gave me and take it or is there a service letter somewhere else. Because my car is out of warranty but service letter should be covered no matter.
