WHY!? why is a replacement LED light over $150!?!?

34270-SEP-A01

My 3rd brake light does not light up anymore. I know what part it is but I cannot find one that isn't $150 or more. Could if possibly be a fuze, if so which one? Professionals...Help a brother out!! Where can I find one that doesn't cost me half a paycheck.

Thanks in advance guys

You need to replace the brake light switch.

It's a $20 part.

That is robbery! Sounds like the premium car markup game.

Don't think it is premium car markup...just how it is with custom parts that aren't used across more than one platform. Just wait till all of these newer cars that are LED across the board start aging out and people have to replace headlights and such that fail.

To the OP, already mentioned...check the switch first...then look at replacing the actual light assembly.

All LED prices are rape. All of them. In 1988, when I graduated high-school, you could buy the same LED lights that you buy now for pennies. They are better in every way than a standard bulb, and CHEAPER to make...yet they now cost more. Hmmm... This is 100% profit.

Get used to it.

My other brake lights work though. It can't be the brake light switch if all other brakes work perfectly... So I guess it is the LED light that costs over $150 that I need.

This sucks. Why the F does a F-ing LED light cost so much!?!?!?!

WHY!?!?!?

Did you even read the thread?
Many others have the same problem - brake lights work but 3rd brake light doesnt work, or is dim, or some LEDs went out.
I had the same problem myself.

Brake light switch fixes it.
Sorry to hear you spent 160 when you could have spent $20

Let us know if the LED assembly fixes your problem

WHAT WHAT IN DA BUTT!!

once again, you guys on the forum are fanfuckintabulous. NEVER listen to one thing the douches say at dealerships or advanced auto. Just cancelled my $160 assembly set. After work, I went to honda dealership and bought that switch for $16. Less than 5 minutes of turning the car off I got down and switched it out and BOOM. All brake lights nice and bright.

I love you guys

the reason why that one piece is that expensive is because it's an assembled LED arrangement, likely with its own motherboard/heatsink unit

LED's themselves are cheap, but to arrange them in an array is the expensive part.

Glad the brake switch worked for you
