Recently I Started To Hear A 'whistling Noise' Coming From Either The Engine Or Underneath The Car . Both When The Engine Is Idling An When I Accelerate, But Do Not Get Yhe Noise All The Time. Could This Be The 'heat Shield' That Other Tl Owners Have Had Promblems With?

 

Sounds like your drive belt and/or drive belt tensioner. Have you dealer check these items.

Check the thread Noise at 2500rpm for information on the heat shield.
