Dammm thats nahhht goood.....what are the chances that Acura will cover it ?? i looked around on here and all i could find was that theres a 5yr/50k warrenty and that means im over by 1 month/2k...what should i do now??? sry for all the questions i just have no clue as to what i should do about it.....thanks for the help tho.
OP -
Since I have only the info that you wrote to go on (which wasn't bad, I just mean I can't check anything myself), something it actually could also be is a bad PCM. If you search on here, you'll find a decent amount of threads about 3G TL owners that got water in their PCM. This is usually from a clogged/plugged A/C drain tube (from the evaporator), and can be caused by many different things.
I have personally seen this on multiple occasions at work. Usually, it ends up causing misfire(s), and sometimes melts the coil(s) (I hate when that happens, so hard to get them out!). I have quite a few pics of fried PCMs, melted coil packs, etc.
Now, your thread caught my eye because I have one, and only one, 3G water damaged PCM that had trans issues. In fact, the tech thought it was a trans, which he replaced, only to have the problem still be there. On that car though (which I ended up having to diag and fix), it would free rev, while in gear, in 3rd or 4th, and just bounce of the rev limiter. Then it would be ok if you left off the gas, or tried to manually tap it down a gear.
I'm not sure how tech savvy you are, but removing your PCM to check for water isn't hard. You just need a 10mm and a Phillips screwdriver. It's located under dash, on the "hump". Pull back the carpet on both sides, unplug the connectors on the pass side, remove the two 10s (one on each side), and pull out through the pass side. Remove the four screws on top of the PCM, remove the lid, and look at the circuit board.
Or you could try blowing air up the drain tube and see if any debris comes out, or run your A/C and see how much, if any, water comes out.
Good luck!

ok so i called Acura corp today and they told me to bring it to the dealership to have them check it out.....so i had to have it towed to the First Acura in Seekonk, MA and when i got there they tell me its $113 to even look at the tranny.....so i okayed it cuz theres nothing else to do and there going to call me tommorow and let me know whats wrong.... i pray to GOD its sumthin small but judging by my luck itll be a whole new trans
the dealer called back and said that it was the front pump in the transmission and it ruined the clutch pack nd everything in it...so there saying i need a new transmission but he couldnt give me a estimate til monday.....WTFFFF now what should i do next...should i go after acura seeing that it only has 52k on it???
plead your case to Acura Customer Service and hopefully they will help you out.....
without cracking the trans open, dealer really does not know why it would have failed. they prolly getting some low pressure readings and think it is the pump. Most likely internal filter got clogged, dropping pressure and toasted the clutch pack(s).
Acura dealer with quote you about $4.5k

you can only rewrite the info on them, and that's only with the Honda Diagnostic system and can only be done on New Gauge Clusters. This is illegal and as well unethical as another member stated. Even if you did manage it and get a repair done, I'd like to think that Karma would soon lead you to shred something more than a transmission.
