What is this fastener called? How to remove?

I am trying to remove the metal trim rings from the door panels. They are held in place by these black washer type fasteners that you can see get pressed into place over a metal stud. I have never had much luck removing them previously. Does anyone know what they are called and if there is a removal tool? Any help is appreciated

Doesn't seem like those are meant to be removed. Maybe try grinding it off? It'd work but you'd have to glue it on back. Why are you removing it anyways?

I believe those are called internal tooth lock washers; you have to cut them off to remove them. I've used a dremel w/ cutoff wheel in the past, successfully.

You'll have to purchase new ones to reinstall.
