Weird problem

So my car wouldn't start, seemed to be a battery problem. Looked at the battery at it seemed it had a small crack which had been leaking. This in turn corroded the terminals. Was in a rush so I had to take it somewhere quick to get it fixed. The mechanic cut the corroded parts off and put new leads on the cables. I would like to get the cable/leads replaced to something a little more permanent and "solid." Would this problem be covered under warranty?

What year is your car? If within warranty I'd say yes. I wanna say the battery has a 3 year warranty.

they most likely won't cover it because of the after market cables that are installed now. The dealer has no proof that the battery cracked and caused corrosion.
