Weird Noise when hitting a bump
I've been noticing a very annoying sound in the right front side of the car whenever I hit a bump. I took the shock off my car to see if it was the problem but it seemed like the shock was fine. There was no fluid leaking from the shock and I applied force to the shock and it seemed to be working. any fixes to this?

is it like a thud? check your passenger side motor mount. If the cover on it is cracked, you need a new mount. If it isn't, remove the mount anyway and check under the dust cover.

it does look like the cover on the engine motor mount is cracked. I was always wondering what that was but I guess you just answered it. I'm new to this forum is there anyway to post a picture?

If you have dropbox, put it in your public folder and then right click the file > Dropbox > Copy public link. When making a new comment, click on the picture icon at the top of the text box and paste the public link in there. Most of my pictures are hosted out of my dropbox account.
Or make a account on photobucket. Grab the [IMG] link code and paste it in the comment window.

i dont see a problem other than your motor mount bracket getting hit over and over again (which is the thud you hear) but people have been driving on it for a while i'm sure. I would get it replaced earlier than later though. The mount itself is something around $90 from the dealer if i remember. super easy to replace. It will also put less strain on your other motor mounts with a new side mount.

Do you feel that thud? in the steering wheel? or is it just the noise.
Could be a motor mount if its just the noise, but if you feel a slight play or loose feeling in your steering wheel along with the thud, i would look into a bushing issue, possibly the notorious compliance bushing.

Just had this same problem and it continues to get worse and will be metal on metal soon. It will affect the acceleration and performance as well. Very easy DIY, I did not have to support the engine. I replaced the mount and all bolts as well. Below are the pictures of the carnage, this was a complete fail, it was in two pieces. Car still idles rough so I suspect the other mounts may be on the way out.

Thats exactly how my engine mount looked like when I removed it from the car and I installed a new one as ez12a recommended and problems all solved and car rides smooth again. I can hear the engine shake and very loud when I started up the car when the mount was broken
