Water in HID Ballast?

So after searching......I wanna confirm my suspicion that I think my ballast is fried.

It's been raining like crazy here in DFW. I went through a really deep section of water (couldn't tell it was so deep due to the cloud burst taking place on my windshield). Anyway, I got home and noticed the passenger's side output against my drywall wasn't as bright as the driver's side.

The inside of the headlight housing was very foggy but I didn't see any water floating around inside. I shut the lights off and went inside. About an hour later I turned on my headlights and the Passenger side failed to fire up.

Thoughts?

Ballast shouldn't get any water unless you submerge them in a puddle or something like that. in your case it could be the water cause shortage on the connector and damage the ballast.

Yes, that's what I suspected. The "puddle" was so deep I thought my stock intake was going to start sucking water.

So where is the best place to find an OEM ballast? I guess I'll have to pull the bumper to replace it, right?

So I was up thinking about this last night...if it were the ballast, wouldn't the HID capsule have been out by the time I got home? It was still on after I got home. It didn't fire up the next time I drove my car. I'm wondering if it's not the igniter....❓

You can check by pulling the bumper and swapping the side that working and try to see which component need to be replaced. Yes you will have to remove the bumper and remove the whole headlight, the ballast locate right under the headlight housing.
