Water On Driver Side Floor. HELP!!!

The floor on the driver side of my '07 TL gets wet whenever it rains. I cannot find any leaks inside the car that may be the cause of this. Long periods of rain produces a small puddle on the floor that seeps into the floor mat, making that soaking wet too!

Has anyone has this same issue? Any suggestions as to what may be the cause of this? Soooo annoying. Please help!

That's weird. Deal with it very quickly. Don't need water getting into the wiring in the floor. Best advice would be to analyze if you have any leaks from the top. If not. Rip out the carpeting to find where it is. Pics would help greatly.

Its pretty crazy that it forms a puddle. That means its accumulating very very quickly. Pics would definitely help. Even if the car is dry. There may be stains or something that can give us a clue.

As a short term solution if you have a shop vac handy, 5HP should do or any vac at a car was should be fine, vacuum all the water out. That's what they are designed for and can prevent it from soaking into the carpet and can possibly prevent it from smelling too bad although that may be too late.

Try running something down the sunroof drain hole on the drivers side. I might just be clogged and the water is leaking onto the floor.

It's a clogged drain tube for the water. If it drips on your front passenger side than there's a chance that it will get to your ECU and fry your ECU. The ECU is located in the same area and it has happened to a few members here on AZine.

another one for sunroof drain but I did hear of some cars that had a defect where water was entering in through the cowl area.

If it's only on the driver's side, it's probably either a bad windshield seal in the bottom corner of the windshield or a plugged sunroof drain tube.

If you've recently had the windshield replaced, then I would suspect a seal leak. Otherwise, I'd bet it's the drain tube.

This will not affect the ECM but certainly could fry the MICU/fusebox on the driver's side kick panel. Get it fixed ASAP.

My moms hummer had a similar problem with her H3. It was the sunroof drain and I was able to fix it myself it simply came undone. Id start there.

I have the same problem and it already messed with my fuse box on the driver side. It made my car alarm go off by itself messing with the door sensors. I had my winshield replaced and have it under warranty so they came by to check it out. they sealed off the sunroof with shrink wrap and poured a bucket of water really close to the corners on my winshield and no leak. Then they took off the shrink wrap from the sunroof and poured more water around the sunroof, and boom there was leakage around the fuse box again. So we confirmed it was a sunroof drainage defect. Anybody knows the best way to fix this??? I don't have a compressor and don't know anyone that has one and there's no gas station that has a blower only to inflate air in tires. Any help?!?

Body shops have compressors. Asks them. Might cost a few bucks.
Ps. Every man should have a compressor in the garage, especially if they do any work on cars. Lol

probably cheaper to buy a small compressor from harbor freight than pay a shop, and then you have the compressor. see, if you brought your car IN to the shop of the glass company instead of them coming out to you, you could have offered the guy 20 bucks to blow out the drains and he probably would have

I bought a small compressor at my job (Home Depot) I sprayed air into the driver side port and had a friend help me out to see if he feels any air leaking on top of the fuse box, and he did feel some sort of air leaking through. We think maybe a cracked up drain tube??. It was night time when we did this so we couldn't take off the A pillar to have a good look. By the end of this week we will take off the pillar and maybe find a solution to fix up the damage tube.. any suggestions? Flex seal tape? RTV gasket? I also thought about just plugging the damn hole is that a good idea? Or will it cause another issue?
