Water.

For some reason, i usually drive my car every once in a while without the music on just so i can listen to the car, to see if anything sounds weird. About 2 weeks ago, i did this, and i hear a swoosh sound of water every time i accelerate. Every time i slow down, depending how far of a distance, i hear the swoosh of water again. I think to myself, oh its prob. just a water bottle that got rolled under the passenger seat or something, no big deal. Today, since its finally not raining, i decided to take that water bottle out. i go under both seats, and NO WATER BOTTLE. can't seem to figure out where this water sound is coming from. Anybody have any ideas???

thanks in advance!

Don't want to scare you, but read this thread--there are at least two others on the same point.

Before you do anything else, try to determine if your ac drain hose is blocked.

^^^^^^ x2....or, hate to say it, blown head gasket.

Check your A/C drain hose to be sure it's not plugged up, either by an oil change tech plugging it with a screw (yeah, it's really happened, more than once) or by road crap.

Hopefully it's nothing.

I hear the same thing, I checked everywhere and no signs of water inside the car. I just thought it was the gas in the the tank moving around.

I was sitting in my car and revved it a couple times and I can get it to make that sound. turns out it was low on coolant. topped it up and no more noise.

if he indeed had a blown head gasket, dont you think his concern would be about how shitty the car idles and lack of power. how would a blown headgasket cause a water swoosh sound?
