I installed a set of rotors and aspec pads a few months ago and the rotors seemed to have already warped. I made sure to torqe the lugs to oems specs. When I purchased the car the front rotors and pads had a lot of life left but were pulsating badly so I decided do install all new. Now, it's doing it again just after 5k miles. I didn't go with a high performance rotor, but didn't go super cheap either. They are the centric premium blanks with the protective painting on all open surfaces. Any chance the aspec pads are too agressive for the standard rotor? Is there anything else I should check within the braking system?

 

Is it one rotor, or both?

I would check to make sure the calipers aren't sticking if they are warping that quickly.

If that isn't it, are you sure it's a warped rotor and not the ABS engaging? Could be an issue with the ABS system as well.

 

it feels as it if it's both, but will dig deeper into the problem. I plan to pull them off inspect and probably have them resurfaced before reinstalling them.

 

Got to ask, how hard do you drive?

 

not hard at all...most of the miles are hwy miles and i am not hard on the car, ever.
