VSA and warning light won't go off?

So I picked up my 2006 Acura TL from my mechanic earlier today after having a bunch of work done (replaced engine and transmission mounts, lower control arm bushing, right rear brake caliper, and some other work). Mechanic asks me if I've had issues with my VSA light going on and off. (I've never had an issue with the VSA light previously.) He tells me the VSA and warning lights are on in my car; the work that was performed required removing the engine and I guess the light issue appeared after that.

The mechanic said he was unable to reset it to make the lights go off but said after driving it around a bit the lights might eventually go out on their own. Does that make sense? I've only driven the car 15-20 or so miles since picking it up from the mechanic and noticed the VSA light was on but appears to now be off (at least for now) but that the warning light is still on. Anyone have ideas on why that would be?

sounds like he went in and reset the computer and some times when u do that you have to perform the vsa neutral position memorization - hook up a scanner go to abs/vsa and see if there is a code called "sensor logic failure" if so that's what u need to do and I'm pretty sure u can do it with any nice high dollar snap on/Matco scanner but if not then U got to take it to the dealer

I have had similar issues happen to my 06 TL. The VSA light would come on at random times and then go off some time after. Just recently the VSA light came on again but this time along with the check engine light. The car went in limp home mode. I turned off the car and started up again and the problem along with the light went away. I hooked up a code scanner and it spat out code P2138 which is indicative of malfunctioning APP (accelerator pedal position) sensor. I had noticed erratic acceleration at times so I decided to replace the sensor. I replaced it myself which took no more than half an hour. Since then the car has been running fine.

Like 3RDGENTL757 said, hook up a scanner and see if any problem codes come up.

Let us know how it goes.
