VSA modulator leaking air

Tried searching, but I'm not finding what I need.
My '04 6MT VSA modulator is leaking air into the brake system causing a very soft pedal. No VSA/CEL lights and it functions normally when activated.
I tried calling Acura about the recall, but no dice.
Called a modulator repair shop in Idaho and they refused to work on it.
Has anyone taken one of these apart and found where air is getting into the pump? I can't justify $2000 for a new one when mine just needs a simple seal or silicone.
6MTs are few and far between in the junkyards and everyone parting out 6MT '04s has told me their VSA was already junk.

Anyone been through this?

Thanks

I have the same problem on my 05 6MT. I don't believe it's a problem specifically for the MT's but I think it's a known issue for the 04-06 VSA modules. I have had the light on since I got the car back almost 3 years ago, and at 75k miles. Brake pedal has sank over time and is pretty soft now.
IMO it's not worth taking apart and diagnosing. Our module isn't the only one with these issues, there's a TSB for countless VSA modules that includes our cars. I managed to find a used unit from LKQ (https://www.lkqonline.com/) after about a year of waiting for them to list one. Unfortunately for us, the MT's have a specific part number that isn't shared with the AT, and I think the 04's are different from the 05-06.
I haven't installed mine yet but will probably this month. Hopefully all goes well and solves my soft pedal and VSA light.

Did the used one help? I figure there are pretty good odds a used one has the same problem. My 06 most likely has a bad VSA, too, and $2k is a lot to spend on an old car.

It did! I gave an update to my own thread I started back a few years ago here -- https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...64-1-a-984443/
Feel free to read through that thread. I gave my final "fix" update in post #25. Good luck!
