I have a small flap of vinyl/leather?? about the size of a fingernail on the rear door. A repair guy at the dealer said he couldn't repair it because the heat used would make the surrounding vinyl/leather bubble up and look awful. Does anyone know the best way to fix this?

 

The tear is just beneath the lip on the door pouch---the lower panel.
