Not sure. I usually have that once I hit the A/C to on, and then it stops right after. You should bring it too the dealership to check it out. Anything that is wrong with your car, unless you're not in warranty mileage and/or year, bring it too the dealership. Than if they can't figure out ask us, hopefully we can figure it out! But good luck

Probably is the mounts. The compressor cycles so when it clicks on and the computer gives it more gas to keep the rpms stable you get more vibration. Mine did this since it was brand new and went away when I replaced the mounts.

They actually did the subframe first and then the mounts when I complained about several things they did wrong. It was definately in the mounts.
Warranty may cover it but they are a wear item.....sort of. You can always check the vacuum line going to the front mount to make sure it's connected tight.

Wrecked the car and had the whole subframe and mounts replaced. I didn't know there was a problem, just thought the rough idle with the AC on was normal until the mounts were replaced.

This is normal and happens on most cars. It even says so in the TL's user manual within the "how to operate the AC" section. Towards the bottom of the page there should be a note: when AC is on you might feel slight vibration when idle, this is normal operation or something along those lines.

Vibration when you turn on the A/C.. does your belt squeal when you turn it on as well? It could be your A/C clutch is going. Have the mounts inspected then do thorough inspection of the drivebelt and associative pulleys. Have someone turn on your car and engage the A/C, while you are looking & listening to the drivebelt system. Listen for squealing when the A/C engages and then look for component vibration. GL!
edit: this may be related to your P/S reservoir & belt problem. Domino effect..

I hear you on that, I definitely wouldn't want to be shelling out $120 for a diagnostic.. If you don't notice anything and there's no squeal + your A/C works well (ice cold).. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you notice it to start squealing especially at low RPM's then it could definitely be the pulley or the clutch. Keep us updated.. by the time the headache subsides I'm sure you'll be enjoying the TL again.

lmao ..your good majofo. always appreciate your input. yeah ac works well. the only thing that was worrying me is that sudden rumble-then stop-then rumble. like u said i wasnt sure if i was a dominoe effect.

The intake filter is even easier.. basically pop the top & swap. I suggest a charcoal activated cabin air filter. There's a couple reusable filters that you can clean but they're pricey. As for the intake filter.. idk.. I'm running a SRI / WAI.. lol..

lol.. I looked back on the threads because I was huh? it's not that bad.. disregard the first post.. that's to the 2nd Gen TL.. my bad.. I just googled cabin air filter TL acurazine and posted the first two I saw with pics..
The cabin air filter really isn't bad to get to.. just take your time and don't be skiddish. Make sure the filter you get is squareish and not rectangular. Some auto part sites list the 2nd Gen cabin air filter the same as the 3rd Gen.
