so my battery plug under my hood came undone, so now i cant use my keyless entry, i tried using my key to unlock the door but its not working. what can i do? please help asap i need to get in my car! thanks~ alot azine

 

the key in the door is mechanical.
meaning, it doesnt rely on the battery.

 

thats what i was thinking, so why cant i unlock my door with my key? maybe whoever took the door apart didnt put it back on right? so what shall i do? dont wanna call pop-a-lock and pay like 50 buck

You can try a little force on the key, but be careful.

If nothing changes, time to call a locksmith...

 

cuz the connection on the batt is a little funny when its not tightened 100%, but when it is connected, i can unlock the doors with my keys... so whats going on?

If you don't want to spend the $$$ on a locksmith, you could always jimmy the hood latch and reattach this said cable properly! Then press the unlock button and your done!

Also what do you mean by the key is opening the lock? Is the key turning at all? Is it moving freely?

 

You can try prying the door at the top very gently with some sort of wedge just enough to insert a long string but hold both ends and try to get it around the vertical lock button and pull back and up at the same time.

 

the key turns the lock, but it doesnt unlock until the battery is plugged in... isnt it suppose to unlock even if the battery is disconnected?

 

yes, the key and lock are mechanical. it does not rely on the battery.

my car is on jack stands with the battery disconnected right now.
I just tried it. I locked the door from the inside..and unlocked it successfully with the key

 

Trying to open with my keys is not working. It turns but nothing happens! Keyless worked on my trunk and I had to crawl through. Totally bogus and embarrassing. Quite bizarre because i can normally open by putting in the key for instance when using the valet key! And the keyless entry is not working. Has anyone else over the past nine years come across this and figured out what we do?

 

sounds like there's a linkage that's broken in the door that is not allowing the key to physically unlock the door then.
