It started out being a problem on long road trips(100+ freeway miles) In 3rd gear of sports shift the car would abruptly shift to 4th gear(sometimes from 4th to 5th) It seem to have gotten worse on shorter commutes.. It would happen anywhere from 60mph-80mph in 3rd gear. I took it to the dealer and they thought it was the shift sensor. They replaced it and problem still occured. Brought it back and they replaced the computer but problem still exists. They claim to have a camera take pic's of the transmission while its running and didn't find any problems. They said they eliminated all the problems on their end and feel it's because of my aftermatket parts. Now they want to charge me to pull my aftermarket parts off( intake,spacer & pulley) WTF? i don't see how those parts can relate to the problem i'm experiencing. Why do I have to hear the sad story that they had the car for 2+ weeks and their tech spent a lot of time on my vehicle so they need some $$? Isn't that what my extended warranty covers?? This will be the last Acura I ever buy!

Oh i did replace my Transmission fluid with Honda ATF fluid... I'm always on time with my oil changes...

So i just told them to charge me the damn $250..... i gotta get my car fixed... driving a 2010 TSX.....Sucks..LOL

You broke down. But, if $250 is worth it for you, than you're good to go.

You should not have given in. Are they going to reimburse you when the car does the same thing once the parts are removed? This shows just how sad the average tech is. It's pathetic. I just went through this ordeal with them yelling "aftermarket" and blaming that on my problems. We spent 3 hours under my car with the Geico guy and lead tech going item by item and how it can or cannot make the car do what it's doing. I won and I'm getting all the work done for free. You need to press them on the issue. Let them explain how a pulley or CAI can affect the gear the trans shifts to. They will have no explanation.

The problem is electrical if it's shifting to a different gear than it's commanded.

There is no camera that takes a picture of the trans while it's running. They're talking about scanning it for codes, nothing more. Just making up a fancy name for it.

It's not too late, I would demand reimbursement for their lack of diagnostics. That's not your fault.

Haven't given them any $$ yet... I figure once they find out the problem has nothing to do with my mods they shouldn't charge me... i'm just curious to kno why it's taking 3+ weeks to tell me what the problem is...
