Type of oil for 2007 TL-S

I just recently bought a 2007 TL-S and I'd like to get an oil change. Can someone recommend what type of oil I should use? Some people say to use royal purple and some say to use mobile 1...I'd just like to hear some opinions!! And when it comes to oil filters, does it make a difference which one I have? Thanks!!

X2 Hundreds of threads on this. I need to keep a set of links saved on here for reference.

I've written a lot on the topic of what I believe to be the best and why.

The cheapest oil/filter combo at the local auto parts store will be absolutely great for your car.

I'll write up something tomorrow. Basically any oil will be fine. If you want the "best" I suggest Redline 5w-30. There's nothing better out there for cleanliness and wear protection.

FYI, Fram filters are crap. Mobil 1 filter, Napa gold, or OEM Acura is what id use.

Royal Purple and Amsoil EAO filters are the best out there.

You can add Donaldson to that list, they make the EAO filters, and the media that is used in the Royal Purple filters.

Yep. I just don't think Donaldson actually makes a car application but who knows, maybe they do now.
