Im looking for some help because maybe somebody have the similar problem to mine.
It starts couple days ago.
At first when i was driving hard and the wheels were spinning the check engine light starts flashing and it goes away.
I check codes and there was:
Random and cylinder 1,2,3,4 missfire
I didnt do nothing with that and car is driving normally.
It hapens again but like i said only when im accelerating hard and the tires are screeching.
But its not the point.
The point is that couple weeks after i was driving to my friend and the check engine and vsa light came on and i have to stop because the car was reving only up to 3k rpms and it was driving like a bs.
I turn the ignition off and turn it on again and the vsa light goes away but the check engine still remain.
And its start coming more often.
When the vsa and the check engine light are on and the car is on the neutral ( i have 04 Tl stick shift with 80K miles on it) i can only rev up to 3K rpms but if im gonna push the brake pedal and hold it and then acceleration pedal the rpms are not moving.
I was at the dealership and they already replace engine mount bushings and the air MAP sensor.
The problem still occur.
Im taking my car to the dealer tommorow and will see what this guys gonna do.

 

Bart- I had the same problem. I was driving from Myrtle Beach to Jacksonville FL and when i got into GA, my car suddenly jolted and on came my TSA and Emissions light. It also would not go past 3K RPM until i turned the car off and turned it back on. BUT...I noticed that if i ran the car on Cruise Control, it runs fine. I took it to the dealer and they said that i was going to have to get my Throttle Body replaced - which was going to cost $635. I went to Auto Zone and picked up a can of Sea Foam and put that in my engine and it has been running beautifully.

 

Car is at the dealership.
I read something about that TB problem and i told em about that, i heard that it can be also a wheel speed sensor, Yaw sensor behind the steering whhel or the EGR Valve.
Last time dealer said that they think it can be:
Plugs and Wires
Injectors
Fuel Pump

PS. I try to use a seafoam but it didnt help.

 

have them check and replace the Accelerator position sensor...

Do You think that bad Accelerator position sensor can do the missfires in the engine ??

 

Sounds to me like the TSB for the PCM Reflash. My car was doing the same thing, had the TSB done and all has been fine ever since.

Thx. I will print it and show it to them but its probably my second and last Acura.
Previously i had a 2nd gen and there was a problem all the time with tranny and with srs light so i trade in the car.
But this bs with that VSA and check engine light is even worst.
Probably Lexus will be next and i hope that they dont have that much problems as Acura.

 

+1 very comon problem on TL's and TSX's. It's the same Throttle by wire system. I think the sensor is around $200 and it's very easy to install by your self.

 

Dealer call me today.
They told me that there is a problem with AP sensor and/or ECM.
They are still testing it so when its gonna be done i will let You guys now.

 

Ehhh....give it some time. If I traded in every car I had a problem with I would have had twice as many cars as I've had over my life. Best three cars I ever owned were my 90 Accord EX Coupe (1st car), my 98 Accord Sedan (#11) and the TL (#12). All cars have their problems, hope your get sorted out.

 

What was your total bill for this service? My car sounds like it is doing the same thing. Both traction lights will come on with the check engine light. It will not go over 20mph and you can not shift the tiptronic transmission. Restart the car and everything works??
