Trunk release button in car isn't working

My trunk release in my car stopped working 2 days ago but the trunk is still able to open via keyless remote. Anyone have this issue and know the fix?

Thanks

Check the valet trunk switch in your glove box, because you might have turned it on by mistake.

Any other ideas? I flicker glove button up/down with no luck. I accidently lock my keys in the trunk. But luckily took 30 minutes to remember of the emergency release.

maybe check the fuses? check your manual for locations.

The little switch in the glovebox may have broke. I know mine did. You can order the part and replace it yourself. You just need to remove the glovebox and the switch snaps in place. No screws

Make sure the glove box switch is "ON" THEN hit your hood release button.

Exactly. You don't flick the glovebox switch up and down to open it. You put the glovebox switch in the unlock position and then use the regular button to open it.

my problem solved. Funny story. I took apart the car to make sure the wire is not loose, guess what it is. This made my life much easier, now I dont have to turn on the ignition to pop the trunk.

My first thought was the switch in the glovebox too, but glad your problem was fixed

I must've turned the switch off in the glove box when I replaced my cabin air filter, too. But, after looking at this thread, my trunk release button works just fine again.

Absolute Genius! Happy days are here again!

Just read the thread and immediately ran out to my 2000 TL. My button problem is fixed now. Put up with the non-functioning button for a couple months now. No idea how the Valet switch was toggled.

Now, one less reason to take my 300K-mile creme puff to the dealer. Also thwarting any potentially embarrassing discussion with the service manager is always a plus. One day, I'll tell you about the bottle cap and my shifter problem.

Thanks

Mine wasn't working for awhile after putting in a new cabin filter and it turned out that I put the connector in upside down. Flipped it back and all is good.

Manual Release

FYI, there's a manual release for the trunk lid accessible through the rear seat arm rest.
