anyone ever had a problem with the Trunk open indicator that always stays on...? and is now draining my battery cause the trunk light is on... and i cant turn on the factory alarm cause it thinks the trunk is open

 

EternaLlx, your problem appears to be with the Trunk Latch/switch assembly mounted to the trunk lid.

A quick test... with the car "on" and the "open" trunk display on, open the trunk and take any thin key or screwdriver and push it into the latch until it is fully latched closed. If your trunk light and display are still on, the latch assembly most likely needs replacing.

Yup the latch switch is broken.. gosh only had the car for 2 months.. >.>

I dont have time to bring the car into the dealer till friday morning.. geez.. had to take out the fuse for the lights, which disables my handsfree, mirrors, saved seats, and remote fob.. of couse interior lights too... geez.... all my good features are gone for a week...

EternaLlx, sorry to here your having issues with a new TL... at least it appears it was a "simple" failure instead of a short in the wiring or a malfunction in the cars "brain".

Hi, I’m having the same issue, the trunk open sign remains even if the trunk is closed. So, to get rid of it, I changed the trunk lid latch but still having the same issue. And because of that sign my car think someone opened the trunk and siren goes on midnight, anyone knows how to fix this please help. Any help will be appreciated.
