Delayed start issue?

Hey guys now that's its gotten cold up here in Ontario I've noticed a starting issue with my 07 tl type s 6mt. Almost everyday I go out to start it and I turn the key and hold it, it has a delay of 1-3 seconds before it even tries to roll over if it even rolls at all. If it doesn't I'll pull it out of gear into neutral and depress clutch again and hold the key on start til it fires up. Car does have a remote start on it.

just cleaned battery terminals recently. Has anyone ever ran into an issue like this on their 3g manual tl and if so how did you troubleshoot it and or what ended up being the issue?
Thanks!

Batt voltage is only 12.87v. Guessing that's low, isn't it supposed to be 14v or better lol

could be a sign that your starter is going out...

make sure the rubber clip on your clutch pedal is still together, I had my brake clip come apart and was causing brake lights stuck on.

Have you checked the + battery cable? At this age, it could be corroded internally where you can't see and is unable to carry enough juice. This once happened to me.
Inexpensive enough to just try a new one.

12.87 volts with the engine running? Sounds a bit low, it should be around ~14.5V with engine running.
Anything less than ~12 will illuminate the battery light on your dash.

What if you were to jump it with another car? Would it still have the starting delay? Or immediate?

Sorry the 12.87 was with engine off. Been meaning to test running with full load but been swamped. Got it out for the first time this am and after sitting in shop for 3 days there was a 2 second delay again before it rolled. Planned on taking it in to have the battery and alt tested asap. Will report back on it tho! Thanks so far guys

Ok finally had a chance to look things over. Retesting batt engine off I got 12.3v today. Started car ran ac heat ect ect retested batt held 14.1 to 14.3 depending on ac on or off. Watched carsNtoys youtube vid on Acura tl no start and tried to test starter solenoid. He was testing continuity on an "s" terminal on the solenoid and then other lead right on body of armature and he had continuity. My starter didn't seem to have the same "s" terminal. But In the same location mine had an s shaped metal connector behind the bolt so I tested from there and was not getting a beep, showing numbers does that mean I have a bad connection somewhere or bad starter solenoid? Will attach pics of my "s" terminal ect. Thanks!

My s terminal that i tested from.

Tried to check continuity of starter solenoid, open short or bad test location?

Quick update. Had battery tested at crappy tire and it tested good. thought I would try my back up key or key 2 and knock on wood it worked and hasn't had a delayed start in 3 days. Hoping it stays this way. Not sure maybe I damaged key 1 and the immobilizer wasn't reading it properly 😕

A while ago I was having an issue where I would turn the key and nothing would happen. I thought it was the clutch pedal switch as well, but it ended up being the starter. Once replaced the problem went away.
