Hey I am new to this forum and tried to do a search on this problem and could not find anything. So my mom bought her tl new back in 04 and the trunk light never worked. We actually thought for about 6 years that the trunk didn't even have a light in it. One afternoon I was cleaning out the trunk and noticed the light in the trunk. Is the switch to turn the light on built in to the latch? or does the trunk need to be opened to a certain point for the light to kick on? I do not believe the bulb is bad I had taken it apart and everything looked good. So I am not really sure where to look next. When I got the car from my mother in Aug I brought it in to the dealer for a "B" service and asked if they could take a look at it but they wanted $120 just to look at it.

I just checked the bulb and its good. After doing a little more reading on this site I noticed that I should get a warning light on my dash when the trunk is open which I dont. So my guess is it has to be something with the latch.
