Does the trunk decklid stay up for your 3G TL other than all the way up? I find mine swinging pretty loose and it will only stay up if I open the trunk lid all the way. Did a quick search and not sure if the same question has been answered.

Don't have any other friends with TLs to test this out. Seems weird if it were only one extreme to another (just open or all the way open and not in between). TIA

 

Mine has always only stayed up if fully opened, even when the TL was new.
From any position other than fully opened, the lid drops down towards the closed position.

All the other cars I've owned all stay partially open. Kind of a bummer especially when it's raining but a minor inconvenience.

 

Has anyone figured this out? Is it just the spring that needs to be replaced?

 

I dont think its spring, I think there is a weight that is on the inside of the trunk lid.

 

Yeah, if you don't open it all the way, it'll fall back down (hopefully not on your head!).

My trunk barely opens...I'd say it opens about 10% of the way. Anyone think I need replacement of the springs? =\
