I have taken my car to the dealer twice for rear deck rattle when I turn up the audio volume. Both times, they just simply replaced the whole rear shelf without doing anything else. I would hear no rattles when I pick up my key and turn on the stereo, but each time, the rattles would come back 1-2 months later.

I think this time, I am going to print out the entire TSB and throw it at them.

Has anyone had a dealer that successfully fixed this rattle?

Ya I have the same problem. Its the subwoofer cover that does it. All you need to do it wedge a piece of tape between the parts of the cover. You can do it without taking anything apart, but the more permanent solution is to remove the cover then at the tape.

Dealer was asking for $100's for it.

I am still under warranty until July, so until then I would like to have the dealer work on it for free. Plus I get to drive their loaner 2011 TSX.

Once warraty is up, I will do the work myself, but since I paid the premium to get a Acura certified used, I want to use the warranty as much as possible.

I had a vibration coming from the rear and it turned out to be a cracked lens in the center stop light.

that's assuming you can find a dealer that can competently fix the problem. just trying to save you some time and hassle...but i understand...if they still can't fix it....you now have a DIY to look over to do it yourself.

a loaner TSX?! if you are over at the dealer that many times...pick a TL and have fun with it! unless your dealer only gives out TSX loaners. good luck.

they are replacing the shelf in order to get paid by hondacare. noises/fitament/adjustments alone are NOT covered under warranty.

im guessing you are either within the 12/12 portion of the warranty or you were sold a wrap around on top of the standard certified warranty.

Warranty DOES cover this. Jungy, I had the same problem. When I told my dealership about this, they said, "oh yea, we'll take care of it".

The didn't replace the back deck, they tightened up the bolts that hold down the seat belts. They guys have also pointed other things that can be done to insure your rattle is gone for good.

My dealer only has non-navi TSX's as loaners.
I am under Acura Certified warranty, which is same as the new warranty.

Steven - Greetings friend. Haven't seen you since the KC meet last month. I took my TL to the dealership this past Friday for a rattle coming from the backseat. They come out and said it wasn't covered under warranty. They then told me it would cost $725 for parts/labor. I asked what was wrong and what parts needed to be ordered. They said they didn't know because they would have to break everything apart. Needless to say we went round and again. $725 for what? We don't know yet, but it will cost $725. I felt like Abbott and Costello (Who's on first!). Anyway, I looked this morning and noticed my rear seat moved up and down (the bottom cushion). I looked under and noticed that both plastic clips that hold the seat in place were broken. Called dealership and the parts are $5.35 apiece. Needless to to say, $11 was the issue. I had NO idea two broken clips could cause so much rattling. Anyway crew, make sure your seats are properly seated (pun intended). How much labor should I charge myself!!??

Yes, I'm livid at the dealer.
