Transmission warning sign?

The car runs great 99% of the time. The past month or two I have noticed random times when I feel what I would describe as a transmission stutter.

I can't pinpoint when it occurs. The only time it has repeated more than once in the same place is slowly accelerating up a light incline near work.

You feel it through the gas pedal and up your leg. Since we have drive by wire, it might be my imagination.

Not sure I am describing it well, but it's vibration that lasts for a few seconds.

Any thoughts?

op have you flushed your ATF and upgrade to a better ATF? and or have you also replaced your 3rd & 4th switches? these seems like an early sign that the switches are out of calibration? etc... just my input

Running Acura fluids. Have no idea what 3rd adn 4th switches are... so I am going with them being original.

What is the approx cost of these items? What fluid would you recommend?

Search. This is the most talked about subject on the board. Tons of great info. Once it starts shuddering, the trans is on it's way out. The switches and aftermarket fluid can save it. I'm too worn out to write another fluid and switch post.

Why don't you just ignore these tranny threads. There has been more than one occasion when I see you post how fed up you are with telling people AGAIN how to address the tranny issue.

I'm having same issue with my 08 TL AT with 53K on it. Bringing it to Acura tomorrow (9/1) for road test. It had better act up with the tech in the car or I am going to lose it. You know how it goes. Miraculously, the car becomes symptom-free during the road test and you look like someone who has been reading too many internet threads and convinced themselves they too have an issue. That's why I NEVER bring up that I have read a ton of stuff about the issue my car has. It'll kill your credibility.

because he wants to help but if you have been on this board long enough you'll see how many times he has been replying to the same transmission questions/problem. he just wanted to point out to you guys that there IS such a thread about this and you guys should read it to find out what other ppl have done to fix their problems.

I vote for that fking thread to be a sticky in Problem & Fix forum

Because I've spent too much time helping others who actually try to help themselves. Every time we have a noob like yourself it's the same old shit. You ask the same old questions like you're the first one with the issue then you act as if you know it all like your post below. If you took the time to read I wouldn't have to reply to this shit and you would look a lot more intelligent.

If you actually read anything you would see a pattern starting from '04 where the techs can't duplicate or diagnose a simple problem but the problem is very real. If you read you would know the fixes to your problem are cheap but Acura can't correctly diagnose a simple issue and replaces whole transmissions and torque converters that can be cured with $90 switches and a different fluid. This is why I get pissed because you get on here not knowing shit and you don't research yet you call me out and I have to explain the same shit I've explained a thousand times. I don't care what happens to your trans, as I said, I hope it fails and you have to come out of pocket for the full amount. I post to straighten out mis-info so people who take the time to search see these threads and are not mis-led.

I care about helping people that are willing to take 10 minutes out of their life to read. Others like you, I hope the dealer sticks it to you which I'm sure they will.

Guys, the conversation here needs to get back to being civil, or I'm going to shut this thread down and issue warnings.

Fair notice and fair warning....

I'm amazed "I hate cars" was so retrained with you on this one. He felt it necessary to come at me like a wolverine because as he stated "this is the most talked about subject on the board" and you should as he put it "search". Don't ask until you search. Careful with this one.

However, he is correct in that the shuddering in most likely a precursor to tranny replacement. I am having the transmission in my 08 TL replaced. I had same symptoms. Shuddering at shift points on an incline. If I could keep the car at about 39 mph, 1800 RPM's it would stay constant. And yes most noticeable under light acceleration.

Good luck with it. And search my good man, search!

Again, use the PM function if you have a problem with me. I'm sure we can work on a solution, I travel a lot.

Sorry everyone. But this guy just can't move on.

I did send you a PM but you didn't respond. And yes, I do have a problem with you. You take it upon yourself to police this forum and tell others how they should behave. And scold them when don't behave according to your rules. We have moderators to do that and they do it well. Because they come from a place of diplomacy and level headedness. You operate with frustration and anger.

What does your traveling have to do with anything? And work on what solution? To my TL's transmission problem? If that's the case I'm all ears. Even though I may find you socially reprehensible, perhaps you may have something to offer. But I can't help but think you're threatening me. Are you suggesting we meet to fight one another? Please tell me you don't expect us to meet somewhere and rumble in a Olive Garden parking lot or something.

I guess this is what we have to expect with the TLs becoming affordable. Take this to PM. You did not PM me.
