Hey guys,
My TL broke down yesterday while coming home from a trip
. At first, all of the sudden, it started stalling and then it wasn't picking up gas; I was trying to accelerate, but nothing was happening (the car completely stopped). I had to push it in Neutral to park the car so I could get it towed back home. Anyways, I tried changing gears, but it wasn't picking up gas at all (It wouldn't go backward or forward). I tried it in all the gears and the results were the same.
The car starts fine, all the lights are on and pretty much everything else work normally except I can't drive it.
Anyone here have had experienced similar problem with their 04 TL or know what might be the problem with mine...
I will greatly appreciate all the input!
Thanks

Any dash warning lights come on?
When you pressed the gas pedal, would the engine rev up or not?
If not, it's more likely the accelerator pedal position sensor than the transmission.
If the engine responds to the gas pedal, then it's likely transmission-related.
G/L.

It's not the APP sensor since I've replaced it with a new one recently. And yeah the engine responds to the gas pedal.Originally Posted by Will Y.

Sorry to hear OP. You said it costing too much, may I ask what are you spending a lot of $$$ in repairing your TL?

Dogmatic Dinosaur
...so buying a new car is cheaper than going another 105K in this one now that you have already paid the price? The next owner will love you for footing that bill.

It's not that; I'm just afraid it might give me more problems after all this... When I first bought this car I never thought I would be spending this much on it Originally Posted by jda123
