Question Transmission Pressure Switches

Posted this on another thread, but thought I'd put it out here in a separate one addressed to the broader community.

Wondering if I should perhaps look into replacing the transmission pressure switches (3 of them, right?) on my "new-to-me" TL?

As I've posted on yet another thread (click here), I recently had a 1x drain-and-fill of the ATF and am planning on having another done in about 1k miles (and then third in about 2k miles after the second). As far as I know, the tranny pressure switches have never been replaced, and my car currently has 61.5k miles on the clock.

My sense is that I should get those switches replaced ASAP (and do a 2nd 1x drain-and-fill of the ATF and replace the transmission fluid filter while I'm at it).

Wondering if folks might have any thoughts or advice? I'm thinking of purchasing the pressure switches myself and then having my mechanic replace them (not very handy with a wrench). Would you recommend OEM, or are aftermarket parts sufficient? Thanks in advance..

BTW, for anyone else who might also be concerned about the tranny pressure switches, here are some other helpful threads that I found:

Questions answered. From this thread, seems like the replacing the tranny pressure switches as a form of preventative maintenance only really pertains to 2004-2006 model years.

Thanks so much for the tip, truonghthe! For others who might be interested, here's his very informative and insightful thread on reasons for replacing the tranny pressure switches.

I'm back to considering having this done with my next ATF drain-and-fill. Any sense of reasonable cost for having a mechanic do this?

I see that the required parts for 07-08 TLs (two 3rd gear P-switches and one 4th gear P-switch) are roughly $40 each (total of $120).

Wondering how man-hours are necessary for this job? Two?

Thanks again for the feedback and advice.

it's fairly easy from the tutorial and video. You can DIY it within 2hr. I'm at 130k and haven't replaced mine yet. Don't really know if it's that really important to do.

just to be clear, the pressure switches do not only pertain to 04-06 models. It applies to 07-08 models as well, but the part numbers are different

the op stated: seems like the replacing the tranny pressure switches as a form of preventative maintenance only really pertains to 2004-2006 model years.

If I read that^^ correctly, op said switching the tranny pressure switches as a form of preventative maintenance only applies to TL years 04-06.

I corrected him saying that replacing the pressure switches does NOT only apply to those years as a preventative maintenance but also 07-08 years.....not sure where the confusion is, or if I'm the one whose confused.

TO overly clarify: Transmission switches for model years 04-08 can be switched as a form a preventative maintenance.
