All of the sudden my car won't start in park, the instrument cluster doesn't show when it is in park, and I can't turn the key past ACC to off unless I disconnect the battery. All three are controlled by different modules or relays but have one thing in common - the transmission position switch. There's a bunch of other stuff in the way, but I need to test it before I buy one. Are these a common failure or did I just get lucky?

 

Turns out it was the shift cable out of adjustment.
