Transmission mounts maybe?

Hello guys, I am new here. Just got a new 2008TL a few weeks back. Paid 21000 for it with 30k miles. It a was certified pre owned. My question is when I put the car in D from P or R i feel the gears switching. I mostly feel it when the car is parked in a semi-hill. It is not a bothersome feel but i can definitely feel it when it engages in gear. I had a Camry prior to this and didn't feel it that much. There is also like a second delay when it goes to D. Would that maybe be something with the transmission mounts? Also what do you guys think about the price did I get a new deal? Thanks and have a great day

If it is the mounts, then they are covered under warranty.

The delay from P to D is a worn out 3rd Gear Pressure Switch - the car shifts into 3rd for a moment before D. These switches (along with the 4th gear one) don't last long while working correctly, but don't quit completely enough to fire a code on the dash.

Ultimately, what we think about the deal is inconsequential. I hope that you are happy with it.

Sounds like a good deal. A bit of a clunk when putting it in drive is normal. If its really bad have the dealer check it out.

Changing the transmission fluid with a 3x3 drain and fill may alleviate the problem. Read up on some transmission fluid threads and you'll see why

Ok Thank you guys. I hear the clunk when I put it in to drive andc from what I have been reading it is normal for the cars. The problem is after the clunk there is a 1.5 to 2 sec and then I feel the gear is in place. I'm getting an oil change tomorow and most defenitely will have the dealer take a look at it.

Have you found a solution because I am experiencing similar problems with my 2006 TL

My car is at 98K and from the start of this year I noticed that when I back out of the driveway in the morning and go from R to D, my car doesn't doesn't go anywhere when I press gas...it's like it's on N. After a few seconds the car would start moving.

please fill us in on what the dealer said, I'm also having similar issue with longer delay going into gear than normal no clunk just the normal feeling of it shifting into D but it takes like 2-4 sec.

The dealer could not find anything. They said the transmission mounts were fine. Checked the fluid it was clear. I guess this is a characteristic of the car. I had a friend who knows about cars check it out also and he said it feels normal. I think if it takes 2-4 secods there must be a problem with it, mine never took that long, maybe i just needed to get used to.
