Hey my transmission hesitates when i put it in drive like a 2-3 second delay then it drives and shift perfect...but after i dont drive it for hrs it goes in to drive and reverse perfect..the fluid is black and smells burned

 

Change fluid!

 

yea iam kind of scared the guy was telling me that its a 50/50 chance cause i have 160,000 miles

 

You should be super happy that you have made it that far! I would introduce 3 quarts at a time of a period of time. Each oil change would be good. Have you not changed fluids at all during this 160K period? Pressure switch replacement may help that time lag as well.

 

Does your check engine light come on or the D light on your gauges flash??

 

What yr is your car? Also have you serviced your trans at all? As pomljm recommended, I would swap out your 3rd and 4th pressure switches and trans filter. I would start off by just doing 1 x 3 first and wait till your next oil change to do a second drain and fill.
