Transmission flush at Lube Express

Hi,
I recently bought an 04 TL with 53 miles . The car was due for an Oil Change so I went to Lube Express. When they were doing the inspection on the car, they suggested I need a tranmission oil flush. I was a bit reluctant and wanted to get it done from the dealer, however they assured that the ATF they use complies with the standards, is synthetic and is better that I would get from the dealership. They did a tranmission flush and oil change.
I am kinda scared if this would mess up my car's tranmission.

Before I bought the car, i checked the car fax and called the dealer if the car was in the recall group for transmission issues.
Please suggest....

what exactly are you asking here?

You already got the fluid changed... so long as it's shifting smoothly I wouldn't worry. However, I would certainly recommend getting the tran fluid changed at the dealer next time. I don't trust the express places.

The Acura approved method of a transmission flush is a 3x3 flush detailed here in this document:

I doubt that Lube Express followed this. Also, check out C-25 and C-26 in the 3G Garage.

Bottom line, you probably paid for an incomplete procedure.

I wasnt aware as there was no mention of this in the service manual. Now having the transmission flush done by a non acura brand and non standard procedure , what do you guys recommend. At any cost, I would not want the tranmission to go crappy. The charged me $120 for the flush.

Chances are the trans will not go crappy on you. However since you did pay them $120 for the flush. Ask them nicely to drain and fill your tranny one more time if they did not follow the drain and fill procedure.

What do you mean by "Flush"? Ask them if they hooked it to a machine that pushes in new fluid and sucks out the old. OR did they just drain and fill once? For $120 its sounds more like they pumped in more than 3 qurts of ATF.

They hooked up a machine and it was pumping and removing fluid simultaneously.
