I am new to Acuras, so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

The previous owner of my 2004 TL told me that when he changed the transmission fluid, he also changed a filter or filters at the top of the transmission. He said that he had to special order the filters. Does anyone have any information about this, as I am just about to change the tranny fluid.

BTW, I found the page that you got the procedure from. I was looking for it all morning and somehow managed to miss it. I guess I won't be asking stupid questions anymore.

its not even funny how often i go in there to get some scans/etc....

Still baffled by Acura's lack of acknowledgement of the filter. Took the TL to the dealer and specifically inquired about the element/filter...response...your car does not have a transmission filter (February 2013). Needless to say, thanks to you all, I know better. I won't post the picture, you've seen it a thousand times...black dirty filter, new pink filter.
