I have 2004 acura tl for some reason i cant manully shift the car with the slap stick. If i am riding down the highway and push it in manually and try to down shift ,the car wont down shift but if i stop the car i can shift it up to fifth gear but it wont allow me to down shift it . Driving it auto the transmission shifts fine.Anyone might know what that problem could be

 

I think there's a troubleshooting procedure on here somewhere. There's a 99% chance the problem is in the shifter and not the ECU or trans. I've heard of people spilling soda in there and causing issues like this.
