Tranny shifts slow

Hi Guys,

I dunno if it's just me, but when i reverse out of my drive way and put it in drive, it takes a good few seconds for the tranny to engage. I go easy on the thing and get the tranny fluid changed every 50,000km.

If i were to put it in drive (from reverse) and press the gas without waiting those 3 seconds or so, the car will kind of peel out.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Thank you guys

Mike

Mine does the same. I've seen a few post about it.

It shifts momentarily into 3rd gear before it goes into D or R.

Replacing the 3rd gear pressure switch appears to help most people. Do a search on "3rd gear pressure switch."

i've replaced the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches on my car and the lag from P to D is still there. its very noticeable when engine is cold, but when its warmed up its not as bad. people riding in the car wont notice, but i notice it because i drive it everyday.

I have a very small lag as well, and it's always been there. Both before and after changing switches and ATF. I want to say I experience it going from P to R though? Maybe I'm wrong.

They all hesitate a little bit, but does it hesitate for three seconds? Mine got way better after switches, fluid and filter change.
