Tranny problem again...? help please...

hi everyone,

I got a 06 acura tl auto around 65k miles.. about 2 months ago i had changed the switches 28600-ray, and 28610-ray-003 since i had some over reving and downshift occuring.. Plus it would not hold or switch a gear sometimes.. After we had replaced the switches all was fine till recently.. Just yesterday my auto tranny started to over rev instead of going into the next gear. Also it would downshift by itself when slowing down...Also a few times off the line the car would move as fast as if a person was trying to push the car in N... Could my switch have gone bad again?

I had no code when I checked yesterday, but right now two pending codes pop up...
P0746- pressure control solenoid A performance or Stuck Off
and
P0741- torque converter clutch solenoid circuit performance or Stuck Off..
not sure what to do.. please help...
thanks

How is the fluid? Check the connections around the solenoids.

Sounds like your TCC. btw.. it's supposed to downshift as you slow.

Make sure that he test and replaces any bad solenoids or switches. Too often, the old externals just get put on the new unit and it will wear out sooner.

This happened to my TL, and the transmission is internally done now.. Is your TL 04?. If so get it checked out at Acura. Hope you got a warranty. Cause the repairs were around 4500$ I'll have mine back next week :\

Your car has a 5 year, 70,000 mile powertrain warranty. Due to a class action, the mileage has been increased to 72,500 miles. I know, because my 2006 Acura TL (manual) tranny went out eight months ago at 71,500 miles(beyond the original warranty, but within the lawsuit-extended warranty). The dealers tried to screw me, but Acura corporate told them "what for." Acura ended up replacing it for free. I know it's a bear to lose a tranny, but it should be covered under warranty (saves you $4,000 or so).
