The TL is a mediocre car

After 8 months of ownership of an 05 TL, I've come to the sad realization that I bought a very mediocre car. Rattles, harsh ride, engine vibration at stop lights, freaky intermittent torque steer, intermittent drive train vibration in the 40-50mph range all add up to a less than satisfying ownership experience. When I complained to the dealer about the engine vibration, the service advisor advised that he couldn't redesign the car and what I was feeling was normal. I wish I could get rid of this thing, but I can't afford the financial hit. I've got to tolerate this pile for two more years, then I'm back in an Infinity.

You mean you've owned an Infiniti, but don't even know how to spell the brand name?

Infiniti

Please excuse the error, It's hard to type when your eyes are filled with tears. Yes I did own an Infiniti and will own another Infiniti as soon as I can sell this crappy Acurra, oh Sorry I've done it again, Acura, so that I can buy another Infiniti.

Is it really THAT serious? If so, I sincerely hope that you can get out of your crappy Acura as soon as possible, and back into an Infiniti. Best of luck to you.

Are you really 56? Someone please slap me if I act like this when I am 56.

You sound like a high school punk (no offense to our high-schoolers; I was one this time last year) just trying to start some trouble.

Just leave and act your age. You know no one here is going to agree with you or give three rat shits about your opinion and terrible spelling, so why even bother?

Seems pretty trollish. He lists the most frequently mentioned issues in his post as if he gleaned them from reading this board. It's amazing his car has all of them in one package. And, if my service advisor told me the issues I'm having are due to a crappy design, I'd find a more motivated service advisor.

If you loved your Infiniti so much, why didn't you just get another in the first place? Brand loyalty must not have much power with you.

What did you expect at the price of the TL?
Can you point out something that costs the same or less that is better?

I also think the auto trans TL's are nothing special, but you have to step up in price to top one.

OK guys....keep it cool here....

Sounds like this guy got a lemon. It happens. He's already stated he's going to live with it because he can't afford the hit to get out of it. Leave him alone.

Austin TL, you need to service your car at a different dealer, one who will actually listen to your concerns and (more importantly) at least try to do something about it. You do have options.

Moving to "problems and fixes"....

I agree with neuronbob. Sounds like you have valid complaints. Take it back to the dealership and insist they take care of the problems. I would think after owning this car for 8 months that you would have already done that and you probably have. You can always try the regional reps, or go to your BBB or consumer protection in your state. There are other avenues, I wouldn't spend much more time here though, since none of us can help you with your complaints. Spend the time trying to fix your problems. Good luck.

---Why does he have to be a Infi sales?
THe TL problems are so widely spread that a large portion of the cars on the road have them.
---why didn't he buy an infiniti at the beginning?
The TL's styling is good and deceptive. That is the only good thing about it. Rattles, vibs develop over time. THere is no way to find them when test-driving a new car.

BTW, infiniti dealers are 10x better than Acura even when I told them i wasn't gonna buy at the time.

I once read some post from someone who moved on from G35 to TL and how his G35 buddies mocked him for leaving G.. and when he came to our site, everybody was saying how we are friendly and we never mock even when people are leaving TL for other cars.. and wish them best of their luck..

Just leave him alone.. either he just loves the way Infiniti is built or he will later regret his decision... we can let this post go down the list by not posting any replies is another option =)
