TL audio system problem

I am having an issue with playing discs in my TL without navi. AM/FM/XM/tape all work normally. When I switch it to disc, it acts like it is reading the disc but after 45 seconds or so I hear a thump from my sub and the system stops responding. I can change the volume but none of the inputs produce audio anymore. The control on the dash no longer work but the steering wheel controls for mode and station work. I have to turn off the vehicle and start it again to restore audio functions. I have removed the radio fuse in an attempt to reset the system but that had no effect. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Thanks!

You have a "hacked" Navigation system-- a prior owner hacked it to put in a custom graphic at some point.
First, you will need the Navi and radio security codes for this. Next, eject the Navi DVD from the trunk drive and disconnect the battery for a half hour. Reconnect the battery, turn the ignition to "Accessory" position(or start the car) and reload the Navi DVD. See if the system reloads the Navi software and unhacks the Navi.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to get a newer version of the Navi DVD than the one you have (a new DVD should work, but costs @$149 + shipping) and load that into the drive. The newer operating software should overwrite the hacked files.

Welcome to AZ.

Did you ever get a reply on your issue? I am having the same problem and would like to know before I take it to be repaired.
